Structured Data Required Properties Missing
An item of a rich-result type documented by Google (Product, Event, Recipe, JobPosting, BreadcrumbList and others) lacks a property Google lists as required, so it is not eligible for that rich result. In a QuikSEO audit, a failure has warning severity and counts against the score. The exact condition, its exceptions and its sources follow below.

How This Rule Is Checked
The rule is a pure function of the fetched page: no extra requests, no account settings. The same input always gives the same result.
Rule Severity and Score
- Rule id
structured_data.required_properties- Group
- Structured Data
- Severity of a failure
- Warning
- Counts in the score
- Yes, whenever it applies to the page
- Required for a score
- No
Condition and Exceptions
- Condition
- An item of a type in Rules/StructuredData/required_properties.json (built from each Google Search Central page, URL and date per entry) lacks a required property, or a nested object lacks a required nested property → fail; evidence names the type, the path, the property and the documentation URL
- Exceptions
- No listed type → not_applicable; an ImageObject without license/acquireLicensePage is not license metadata; a nested object whose @type has its own entry is checked against it; when the only requirements missing are rating or review alternatives (aggregateRating, review: SoftwareApplication) → review, never a scored fail
Sources and Project Decision
- Sources
- General Structured Data Guidelines (Google Search Central, Q05)
Structured Data Markup that Google Search Supports (Google Search Central, Q13) - Project decision
- Warning: Google states that items missing required properties are not eligible for rich results (Q05). Checked: top-level items, @graph items and list items, with array @type; nested objects where the documentation defines required nested properties (an offer's price, a breadcrumb item's position). A nested object whose @type has its own entry is checked against that entry. Image license metadata applies only to an ImageObject that declares license or acquireLicensePage. LocalBusiness subtypes (Restaurant, Store) are not matched. FAQPage is not included. When the only requirements missing are rating or review alternatives (aggregateRating or review, as for SoftwareApplication), the result is a review: ratings cannot be added honestly where none exist (lot 3).
