Structured Data Type Missing
A parseable JSON-LD item (the top-level object, or each @graph item) has no @type. In a QuikSEO audit, a failure of this rule has warning severity and counts against the score. Below are the exact condition, its exceptions and the sources behind it, followed by the other rules of the same group.

How This Rule Is Checked
The rule is a pure function of the fetched page: no extra requests, no account settings. The same input always gives the same result.
Rule Severity and Score
- Rule id
structured_data.missing_type- Group
- Structured Data
- Severity of a failure
- Warning
- Counts in the score
- Yes, whenever it applies to the page
- Required for a score
- No
Condition and Exceptions
- Condition
- Parseable JSON-LD whose top-level object (or each @graph item) has no @type → fail
- Exceptions
- Invalid JSON → not_applicable (covered by invalid)
Sources and Project Decision
- Sources
- JSON-LD 1.1: A JSON-based Serialization for Linked Data (section 3.5, Specifying the Type) (W3C, Q86)
- Project decision
- Severity warning is a project decision [D]. A top-level array is checked item by item; an object with @graph is checked through its @graph items (the wrapper itself needs no @type). @type must be a non-empty string or a list of non-empty strings.
